With a diameter and height of around 11 meters, the defense and watchtower, completed in 1622, is one of the larger and fully preserved structures of the island's fortification system. Access to the tower is - at least for the moment - closed, so unfortunately it is not possible to visit or climb it.

The watchtower and defense tower Torre Picada controlled the port entrance of Port de Sóller. The tower is 11 meters high and just as thick in diameter. Mallorca has a whole network of historic fortification towers that were built to protect against recurring pirate attacks.

Hello, at the point where you can turn to Torre Picada, you stay on the dirt road. Then you run about 45-60 minutes. You pass the sloping rock and then you reach a small, entertained hut, where you can have a drink or buy tropical fruit. On the terrace you sit directly on the cliffs with a wonderful view of the sea. In bad weather it can also be closed.
