We have known Balatonfölvár since 1985, and have been to Lake Balaton several times over the years. The shallow water of the south bank is particularly recommended for children.
It's nice to walk along the beach promenade, and especially the sunset is highly recommended.
Unfortunately we haven't been there for several years, but I would be curious to see what it looks like now ...
