The monument of Father Ignacy Skorupka commemorating the heroic chaplain who died in the Warsaw battle with the Bolsheviks near Ossów on August 14, 1920, was placed on Veterans' Square of 1863 in front of the Warsaw-Praga Cathedral.
The monument was funded by the Warsaw-Praga diocese on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the "Miracle on the Vistula" and the ceremonial unveiling took place on August 13, 2005.
It was made of bronze and depicts a priest holding a cross in his left hand and pointing in the direction of attack with his right. The whole, including the granite pedestal, is 9 meters tall, the sculpture itself is 4 meters tall. The inscription on the monument reads: Father Ignacy Jan Skorupka born July 31, 1893 in Warsaw. Chaplain of the Praga Garrison of the Polish Army. Chaplain of the 1st Battalion of the 236th Infantry Regiment. Volunteer Army. On August 14, 1920, he died fighting the Bolsheviks near Ossów. Knight of the Virtuti Militari Cross. Buried at the Powązki Military Cemetery. On August 13, 2005, on the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw.

The author of the sculpture is Andrzej Renes.

      Interesting facts:
      - the erection of a monument dedicated to the priest was planned before the war. Even a plinth was created, on which in 1945 the Monument of the Polish-Soviet Brotherhood in Arms was erected in Vilnius Square. This version is not confirmed by 90-year-old Mr. Paweł Elsztein from Prague.
      - the unveiled sculpture stirred up a lot of controversy among art historians and residents of Prague...
