Rauenstein Castle in Überlingen, built in 1903 for Otto Ziesing, is a neo-baroque villa with magnificent decorations and a distinctive roof. After a variety of uses, the building has been empty since 2018. The surrounding park with an apple nature trail remains open to the public and offers visitors relaxation and insights into regional apple varieties.

Hiking

A once private property is now open to the public: the park of Rauenstein Castle. Around 1903, retired Swiss Captain Otto Ziesig had the villa, known as the "castle," built on the Rauhhalde hill in the east of Überlingen, with a park and a chestnut tree avenue. The property became the property of the city in 2015.
