The historic watermill, which is also Bad Essen's landmark and adorns the municipal coat of arms, is still in working order today and is occasionally used for milling demonstrations. From May to October, it operates every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The overshot waterwheel has a diameter of five meters.
