The seven-story water tower was built in the late 1930s. On the top two floors there was an open water tank. These include living spaces that were inhabited until the 1990s.
The building was classified as a "particularly characteristic and meaningful example of the architecture of National Socialism" and is a listed building.

The water tower is on the south side of the tracks. It was built at the end of the 1930s and is a tower with seven floors, in which the open water tank was located. There were living rooms on the floors below. The tower has been empty since the 1990s.
According to the monument, the tower is "a particularly characteristic and meaningful example of the architecture of National Socialism". This applies to the material, reinforced concrete, as well as the "chunky design language expressing durability and absolute claim to power", including "exits that look like driver's balconies". The “bunker-like design” was close to the military architecture of that time.
