Ozean Bridge Harpstedt

175 m long pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the marshy Delmetal, north of Harpstedt. The bridge is so named because it is the link between the nearby district of Klein Amerika and Harpstedter Wald. In 1967, with the help of the THW local association Syke, the footbridge was replaced by a real bridge and provided with a long footbridge, which had to be extensively renovated in 1982. After about 20 years, the increasing decay of the bridge could no longer be stopped, so that it was closed for safety reasons. In May 2006, the dismantling of the old and subsequent new construction of today's bridge began, which was ceremonially handed over on August 8, 2006.
