The place could already have been settled around 800 (time of Charlemagne). The first documentary consideration dates from 1136. Deesdorf was owned by the Anhalt and belonged to the Count of Aschersleben (Albrecht the Bear). This village with a church from the Romanesque period (tower with coupled windows) emerged from the poor settlement at the marsh area of the Bode, but was rebuilt several times. The interior is therefore partly older than today's church.
