At the extreme western end of the Rügen peninsula Mönchgut there is a bank projection, called the Swantegard, or the sacred area. In this projection there is a depression, which is known as a nun's hole. To this "hole" were brought the nuns who did not live and fell down. At night it is still supposed to haunt here.

A very natural beach and the nun's hole has a "history". Unfortunately, the trail is now blocked along the coast towards Groß Zicker due to demolition.
If you look closer from below, you also notice the already broken off coastal parts.

"At the extreme western end of the Rügen peninsula Mönchgut there is a bank projection called the Swantegard, or the sacred area, in which there is a deep pit called the Nun's Hole, which is still very deep, although very old people in the area are remember that it was filled up many years ago, and that it was so deep that no one could find its reason, and the pit was used by nuns when there was still a Catholic nunnery in the city of Bergen For instead of being walled up alive, as was common in other Catholic monasteries, they were plunged down into that pit, which was always secret and done at night, but people soon became aware of the lamenting Figures that often came up in the moonlight from the tomb and walked around it, so the pit has been there since time immemorial s nun's hole, as it is still called. It should still be unhappy in the area. "Source: sagen.at/texte/sagen/deutschland/mecklenburg_vorpommern/temme/nonnenloch.html
