Only a few meters south of Hausen you will find the forest parking lot at the forester Bitter Oak. Coming from Eltville directly at the highest point at 514 m above sea level is the left hand exit.
The Rheingauer Gebückwanderweg also runs across this parking lot on which also the board No. 9 of the trail is located.
At this point, the Hausener Pass crossed important ways earlier, here was the Rennweg, and a connection from Mainz, Kiedrich on Kemel to Limburg.
