Belonging to Magdeburg until 1680, this year it is part of Prussia. Economically, the place was never very strong.
Until 1916 Ruhlsdorf was a parish in Luckenwalde, then an independent parish. In the village there is a neo-Gothic brick church. This was inaugurated on October 24, 1904.
Since July 1, 1992, Ruhlsdorf has been the seat of the former official and now municipal administration of Nuthe-Urstromtal.
