Known locally for its very steep and gravelly nature, it’s an awesome ascent challenge as you’re heading out to the Peaks, or a proper thrilling decent if you’re heading back to the city.

Clough Lane is a rough bridleway that rises to the edge of the Peak District. Ascending, it’s tough going and ends with a really steep climb that culminates in a fantastic view of Sheffield. Descending, it’s great fun; rocky and techy but still possible to ride fast, even on a (robust) rigid bike.
