"The Glauer Bergen is a hilly landscape made of sand." Writes Wikipedia, and that's exactly how it is. The landscape is very attractive, but difficult to master as a gravel or mountain bike route because of the extensive sandy passages and inclines. Anyone who dares to do so should be prepared for pushing. It's still worth it.

In Blankensee there is a country bakery with a small range of groceries (water!) And a restaurant with a small beer garden.

For those interested, some more drum info: The section is part of the Fontaneweg F4 through the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park. "After climbing over the heights of the Glauer Berge compression moraine, the path to Blankensee sinks. Here, in what he called Thümenschen Winkel, Fontane visited, among other things, the Blankensee manor, the later refuge of the writer Hermann Sudermann." (Wikipedia)
