The Teufelskanzel is one of the most colossal rocks in the so-called Devil's Chamber, an area in which many large boulders are scattered in the forest. Where do you think they all come from? A legend tells of a quarrel between a giant and the devil. The giant is said to have torn rocks out of the ground and thrown them at his adversary.

The Teufelskanzel is a rock cliff designated as a natural monument in the Deister near Nienstedt, a district of Bad Münder am Deister in the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony.
