A fascinating, unique open-air museum of the region's mining history. Since last year it is also possible to pitch your tent in Ferropolis or travel by camper and spend a night or more among the iron giants. You can find more information at ferropolis.de.

Open-air museum and event arena on the peninsula of the former site of the brown coal opencast mine. Lignite was mined until 1991 and the landscape was dug up in the process.
