Wachshütte Hunau – Viewpoint and Ski Hut

The rustic log cabin is managed by the Ski- Club Bödefeld 1991 e.V. The revenues serve the promotion and further education in the youth work. During the winter season, the cabin is open on weekends, before public holidays and floodlit evenings. A must have come for every skier here;)

The Wachshütte is located directly at the mountain station of the Hunau ski lift and in winter the hut is operated by the Bödefeld Ski Club. Several hiking trails run past the hut. These include the X25 Hunauweg from Finnentrop to Korbach with a route length of 90 km, the K2 Hunaukammweg from Siedlinghausen to Bad Fredeburg with a route length of 18 km and the Sauerland Höhenflug. At the wax hut you have a wonderful view over the Sauerland. Visibility is about 20 km as the crow flies. From up here you can also see the A46 motorway bridge between Meschede and Bestwig.
