The Roman tower is located on the Pulverberg in Sayn-Bendorf and is part of the LIMES UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It was reconstructed as a watchtower with palisades in 1912 by route commissioner Georg Loeschcke of the Reich Slim Commission. A monument was erected to him on the ascent path.
There is a wonderful view of Bendorf-Sayn, the Rhine and the Giant Mountains.

The Saynsteig Trail offers a hike in search of traces of the knights and Romans in Sayn. It leads through shady forests and on natural paths to impressive cliffs. Quiet forest sections and the idyllic Brexbachtal alternate with incredibly beautiful views as far as the Rhine Valley and the Eifel. The reconstructed Roman tower Sayn offers one of the most spectacular, in the truest sense of the word, dreamy panoramic view. Benches and a picnic area invite you to linger.
