Hiking Highlight
At 1733m above sea level is the Carl von Stahl House. Here I stayed in June with 2 friends. Despite strong operation, both the food was very good and the staff friendly. In the tour choice the host was a great help, and enriched us with the knowledge of a locals. Great advantage is the opening times, as here also in winter, admission is granted. The only drawback are the shower prices, for ten minutes with € 2.50 to book. I would definitely come back anyway.
Opening hours: open all year!

A hut that you will always want to return to. The Team of the Stahlhaus welcomes you with a relaxed cordiality. Since you feel right at home. The grandiose backdrop is available for free.
The cabin is open all year round. So you can use them not only in summer as a starting point for summit ascents and longer tours. Even in winter, the hut offers a shelter on cold days.
The website: stahlhaus.at informs you about the numerous accesses, descents and tour options. Get inspired.

The Carl-von-Stahl-Haus (steel house) is an Alpine Club hut of the Salzburg section of the Austrian Alpine Club. It is located at 1,736 m above sea level on the Torrener Joch, not far from the Jenner, between the Hagen Mountains and Göllstock. The border between Bavaria and the Austrian state of Salzburg runs right here.
Due to its easy accessibility, the Stahl-Haus is a popular destination for hikers and day visitors, but also a valuable starting point for mountaineers who undertake longer tours from here. The Stahlhaus is particularly popular as a destination for a hike after taking the Jennerbahn uphill.
The steel house has several beds and camps. The prices for the overnight stay can be found in the reservation calendar. Dogs are welcome on the steel house after registration, there are special dog rooms. The overnight stay of the dogs in the hut is free, details on call.
In winter, the steel house is also managed and can be reached from the Jenner ski area via a mostly groomed path with touring skis or snowshoes. It is a popular starting point for numerous ski tours in the Berchtesgaden Alps, for example on the Hohe Brett, on the Schneibstein and further on to the "Kleine Reibn" or the "Großer Reibn", a challenging ski crossing that takes several days to the Kärlingerhaus with a final descent into the Wimbachtal .
In summer it is above all the Schneibstein that tempts hikers and mountaineers to go on a tour at the Stahl-Haus. The 2276 meter high mountain in the Hagengebirge is considered to be the lightest two-thousand-meter peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps.

Beautiful mountain hut and good starting point for a Göllüberschreitung to Purtscheller or Kehlsteinhaus.

Beautifully situated hut. On the route Kehlsteinhaus - Hoher Göll - High Board - Carl von Stahl House as accommodation.
Also not too far away as a destination for the smaller hikers.
Tip: start from the Alpengasthof Vorderbrand, here you can stay great, get a nice breakfast and may, if you ask, leave the car.

Beautifully located on the border between Germany and the Salzburger Land. Wonderful snack. Whether as a resting place for one of the many large rounds, or starting point for smaller, the steel house can always recommend.
