Under the direction of the Wertinger artist Herbert Dlouhy, the Sculpture Trail Donauried was built in 2005/2006 by the city of Wertingen and the municipality of Buttenwiesen in cooperation with the regional association Donautal-Aktiv e.V.
Well-known international sculptors from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Bulgaria created the works of art.
