The memorial consists of several parts and each one is worth a visit in itself. Moderated and guided events also take place regularly. Further information is available here:

First, there is the honorary cemetery for the people killed in the camp, established by the French military government in 1946. Those who were found in mass graves but whose identities could not be determined and who could not be returned to their homes are buried here.

Then the chapel from 1948. And finally the memorial to the former Luxembourg prisoner Lucien Wercollier, which was inaugurated in 1986. It contains an inscription in German and Latin: "Imbued with humanity, peace and justice"

In 2005, a documentation and meeting house, designed by the Saarbrücken architectural firm Wandel, Hoefer and Lorch, was opened in the presence of survivors from France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. This contains a permanent exhibition which provides information about the perpetrators, victims, everyday life in the camp and the period after 1945.

For example, it is interesting to learn that the camp already existed in 1939, and it is shocking how brutal it was here - within sight of the next town. But also that private individuals could request workers, and also that there were people who gave the prisoners bread and fruit
