Best Hikes to Friesenberghaus
Tips
  • From the Friesenberghaus, which is 2,498 meters above sea level, you have an impressive view of the mountain panorama and the Friesenbergsee in the valley. The mountain hut with the solid stone walls is family-friendly and bears the seal "Families Welcome!" from the German Alpine Association. In the vicinity of the hut there are many easy hiking trails that are very suitable for children.

  • The detached Friesenberghaus can be seen on a hill from a distance. Behind it the Little and the High Riffler. The Friesenberghaus can be used for rest and overnight. The dishes are excellent!

  • The Friesenberghaus is located in the middle of a car with a magnificent view of the Zillertal Alps. Also in the autumn time very worthwhile.

  • It is a lot quieter here than at the Olpererhütte. So for us a hut to take a well-deserved rest.

  • On the cliff above the northeastern shore of the lake (looking towards the Riffler), the DAV section Berlin has set up a sport climbing garden (routes between UIAA 3 to 8, in the meantime possibly higher) with up to 2 SL tours. Topos are available at the host.

  • Good opportunity for a rest or to spend the night. We stopped there after the Friesenbergscharte

  • Very nice alpine hut with different approaches, which is operated by a young team. Child friendly. We met 2 families who walked the Schlegeis Speicher - Friesenbergalm and the hut of the same name on to the suspension bridge and the Olperer hut and descended from there.

  • Walking from the Schlegeis dam, you reach the Friesenberghaus in about 2.5 hours. A great hike, which is also feasible for children. Meadows and smaller waterfalls line the path. Once at the top, you can be pampered with culinary delights and cool his feet in the Friesenbergsee a little. If you want, you can stay up here for one night.

  • We were four adults and four children ages 5-7 at the Friesenberghaus in June 2022. We could not be happier with our stay! The food was wonderful, the service was super friendly, and the lodging was just what we needed. :)

  • From the Friesenberghaus you have a great view. You can make many small detours from there.
    The food is great.
We came from the Olpererhütte, so the Friesenberghaus was the perfect place for a break.
The way back to the Schlegeis reservoir is very quiet and relaxed.

  • very tasty food (we had the half-board 1x vegetarian, 1x with meat). That had nothing to do with "simple hut food", really, compliments to the kitchen!

  • Really great shelter 👍🏻👌🏻
Beautiful ascent from the Schlegeis reservoir (in about 2 hours)
    Food really tasty
Really good mountain tours and summits in all difficulties possible 🌄⛰️
    Room and hut 1A👌🏻
So I'd love to come visit the hut again 😉

  • The hut is beautiful, the descent from there is almost entirely over stones, which takes about 2 hours. Very difficult and you always have to be careful with every step. Therefore you need to be in good physical condition, because without physical condition you cannot concentrate ...
