Mountain Biking Highlight
The Castello dell’Allegrezza is the high-sounding name of the building now reduced to a ruin. A small fortress of a defensive system of which there are ample traces in the watchtowers and signs present between Longuelo and Mozzo, both in the plains and in the hills, it was for centuries a farmhouse of the Monastery of Astino. The abandonment is relatively recent, as evidenced by the inhabitants of the valley and the black and white photographs.
Allegrezza, the auspicious toponym, according to Maddalena Maggi 'comes from the term "Grangia". By deformation in "Granza", we find over the centuries: "la Granza", "Alagranza", "de la legranza", "Allegraza", "Allegrezza". 'A document dated 1516 reveals that the land around was' cultivated with vines, plums, fruit and wood chestnuts, apple trees, pears, walnuts, cherries, figs, willows, oaks, Turkey oaks
It is not a difficult landscape to imagine, there are many traces left.
