Hiking Highlight

If you’re looking for a straightforward ramble with outstanding views, then hikes up Mount Blair might just tick your boxes. With its toes touching the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park, this rather classically shaped, rotund foothill makes for an excellent walk easily accessible from Strathmore and Dundee.
Standing alone and rising to 2,441 feet (744 m), hiking trails up Mount Blair are steep but short. Starting from the B951 to the north, you’ll park almost halfway up the mountain, making this hike a good option for children too. Heathery moorland cloaks much of Mount Blair and looking out, the views up Glen Shee get better the higher you climb.
Topped with a radio mast, a trig point and a wind shelter with a topograph, this summit has a lot going on. Well known for its excellent views, you can spy Ben Nevis, Schiehallion and plenty more from here.
Mount Blair sees snow in winter and changeable weather throughout the year. Clear days bring out the best of this peak.
