Lying south of Loch Laggan, between the Ben Nevis range and the Cairngorms, hikes up Geal Charn place you in wild, remote landscapes. This Munro sits north east of lonely Corrour station, south of the A86 and west of Dalwhinnie. With two immediate Munro neighbours, experienced hikers can bag all three in a strenuous day.
Most easily accessed from the parking between Loch Laggan’s south end and the reservoir, hiking up Geal Charn by itself is perfectly possible. Beinn a Chalchair and Creag Pitridh can be added should the weather and your energy be conducive. The terrain on Geal Charn is largely grassy, with scattered boulders increasing in number the higher you get.
This Munro has a rather notable summit, a cone shaped cairn that can be seen from a significant distance. The summit views are splendid, with behemoth mountains, sweeping glens and shining lochs everywhere.
Geal Charn (which translates to White Hill) can be attached to a route incorporating Carn Dearg or from Aonach Beag. From both directions it's a tough, long walk. The mountain is a Munro and is 1,132m in height.

A long but rewarding walk will take you to the summit here. Marked by a cairn, it is best enjoyed as a ridge walk with Carn Dearg and continuing on to Beinn Eibhinn.
