Just a very nice zoo. It's always worth a visit there because there are cute offspring, because you always see something different, because a lot is being renovated and completely rebuilt, because there are native species of animals there, because it is very family-friendly, because you can take a break in the café because there is no entry fee, because ... it is simply pure relaxation.

At the right time of year you can see many young animals there. They're just cute and cute. For example, today I petted a tarpan foal, very cuddly - and did not set a good example.
I have often thought about my favorite animals: I think it's the donkey.
I think I've been there more than 100 times. I always find something new, exciting - and yet I'm always completely relaxed when I've been there. Also the bear enclosure: I can watch the bears there for a long time and I like the enclosure with the pond and the waterfall, the tree trunks - simply made very nicely.
Then the small animals, rabbits, squirrels, mice ..,
The chickens, peacocks, owls, the free flight hall ...
    Every visit is a win.
But just go and see for yourself.

    Heimat-Tierpark Olderdissen - open 24 hours

The Heimat-Tierpark Olderdissen is a popular destination for families with children, for kindergartens and school classes. Here many children see their first forest and wild animal live and in color. Over 450 animals in 90 different species can be observed. Some animals are rarely or no longer found in the wild.

The enclosures that corresponded to the previously practiced exhibition of animals have been replaced in the last few years by systems that correspond to the latest zoological knowledge of animal welfare that is largely appropriate to the species.

The animals, which have voluntarily settled near their peers, for example, prove that the approximately 16 hectare facility (one hectare is about the size of a football field) with its ponds, meadows and forests does not only attract people Colony of wild herons.
And if it says: "Warning! Free-running alpine marmots! ”Shows once again what idea the concept of the Olderdissen home zoo is based on: the zoo as a place for active learning, where you can see, experience, understand and pay attention to local nature and its animals.

    Home zoo Olderdissen
Open all year round and free of charge: Over 450 domestic animals make Olderdissen a popular destination for families with children. Handelsblatt's home zoo Olderdissen was even chosen among the TOP TEN of German zoos. The park has existed since 1930 and is now around 16 hectares.

With the playground and the petting meadow, children have great opportunities to let off steam and discover. A visit to the zoo is a unique experience for families, kindergartens and school classes. The lovingly designed animal history collection with more than 600 specimens is interesting for all age groups. Various native animal species are clearly displayed in their habitats. Admission is free! If you want to take a souvenir home with you, you can look around in the shop area. For bad weather days there is "Bielefeld Zoo", the home zoo Olderdissen app.

The Meierhof Olderdissen is the gastronomy in the zoo with a spacious deele, terrace and beer garden. The menu includes coffee and cake, daily specials, breakfast and much more. The Meierhof can also be booked for events.

If you want to show your connection to the zoo, there are many ways to make a donation to maintain, maintain and expand the facility.

Crowded on the weekends during the day, Olderdissen is probably the most popular destination for family outings in Bielefeld. The park is open 24/7/365 and free of charge, donation boxes are in the entrance area at the old Meierhof.
Since an enclosure is always being renovated, expanded or redesigned somewhere, there is always something new to see, even after years.

The lynxes are lazy here in the sun, or can sometimes taste one or the other. The animals are very relaxed and can not be disturbed by the visitors.

Unfortunately there was only one female left of the original pack, so the zoo has recently attempted to socialize Wölfin Rieke with the male Aik. Result: Three cuddly wolf puppies, who sometimes play directly at the fence in the evening hours. (As of July 2018)

The wolves here have a boy. Since the bridge over the enclosure is closed. Still worth it, because the animals can be seen then.

One of the most beautiful zoo's I know. Actually an animal park with native animals. There you can always see, with each visit, something else. The zoo is very active and always trying to make something new or create. Not just for children an experience that there are very nice playgrounds, a petting zoo and a cafe where you can take a break and eat and drink. A VISIT AT THE ZOO is well worth it

In the wild, only a few of these shy animals will get to face, but live in Olderdissen two deep-lipped lynxes, which sometimes nap all day on their rocks in the sun and roll at most times to the other side. At present (July 2018) there are also two cubs in the enclosure.
