Best Hikes to Olderdissen Home Wildlife Park

Tips

  • Just a very nice zoo. It's always worth a visit there because there are cute offspring, because you always see something different, because a lot is being renovated and completely rebuilt, because there are native species of animals there, because it is very family-friendly, because you can take a break in the café because there is no entry fee, because ... it is simply pure relaxation.

  • Admission free - 365 days a year - that is the Tierpark Olderdissen. Around 450 animals live here – 35 species of mammals, 42 species of birds and three species of fish.

From mice to bears - many different animals live in Olderdissen Zoo. But what unites them: almost all of them are "from here" (East Westphalian for "they are from here") - at least they used to be. That's why the word "home" is still in the name of the zoo.

Exotic zoo animals? none. But there are many animals that feel at home here, such as wolves, chamois, alpine marmots and otters. The facilities correspond to the latest zoological findings in terms of species-appropriate husbandry.

Some zoo animals came and stayed at some point - even without fences. The free-living storks or herons have chosen the zoo as the center of their lives. And the Alpine marmots regard the entire zoo as their territory.

The home animal park Olderdissen is extensive. It is located on a 16-hectare site in the middle of the Teutoburg Forest. From the forest straight into the park - that's what makes this zoo so special.

  • The wolf enclosure is one of the most visited places in the zoo.
The zoo is beautiful at all times and you can relax perfectly.
There is something new to discover almost every year. (New animals, new enclosure or various other innovations)
