The west side of the road was paved in September of 2019 making it paved all the way now. It is still a very beautiful ride but is also popular with cars and RV's heading into Taylor Park so pick your time and day accordingly. Because it is a high altitude road it is not maintained in the winter and closes to vehicles sometime in October, opening again sometime in May.

This climb was part of the US Pro Cycle Challenge 2011. The climb is on a dirt road, lots of fun. The east side is paved so pick your poison.
