The ruins of the Bönnigheim Franciscan monastery can be seen in the immediate vicinity of the marked viewing point. Following the pilgrimage chapel “To Our Lady” on the “Frauenberg” that already existed in 1449, the monastery was founded in 1477 and abandoned again in 1542. The monastery fell into disrepair and was demolished in 1792. Few fragments have been preserved.
