The Galopprennbahn Bremen is currently out of order. The last race took place there on March 30th, 2018.
The racecourse was built shortly after 1900, as a replacement for the old racetrack in Hastedter Suhrfeld (operated since 1858).
The Bremen Senate intended to build housing on the site. The referendum in May 2019 spoke out against this development in order to preserve the historic site.
The connected hotel and the golf course are still in operation.

Update 01/2024:
The “Galop de Porc” has now developed on the former horse racing track. The green areas/project areas within the racetrack may only be accessed by project employees. (see attached image "Terms of Use")
A publicly accessible, asphalted path now runs roughly through the middle of the former racecourse. Pedestrians and joggers may also use the outer path around the racetrack. (approx. 2.6 km per lap)
