The Goldbergsee, framed by rock and forest, looks magical, magical. A bath in its crystal clear water refreshes and invigorates.

The lake - an abandoned quarry - was created around 1920 by an unsuccessful blasting which triggered a water ingress. Despite the small size of approx. 100 x 30 meters, the lake reaches a continuous depth of 5 meters, sometimes 7-8 meters. A non-swimmer pool with a slide was created for the smaller bathers.
In addition to the swimming pool, there is also a campsite here, which can be used as a starting point for hikes in the region. Registration takes place via the municipal administration, which can be reached by email at zeltplatz@marktschorgast.de or by telephone on 09227 / 9430-0
Further information on the campsite can be found here: marktschorgast.de/verzeichnis/visitenkarte.php?mandat=186536

Low entry and the mentioned children's pool, lifeguard and a kiosk ensure the good things around. Due to the rocks, the water is mostly in the shade during the day, which, together with the depth, ensures a good deal of freshness. Access is possible at the level, or at the opposite end, via a staircase in the cliff face.
