The nature trail was built by the State Forestry Administration of North Rhine-Westphalia and inaugurated in 2003 by Environment Minister Bärbel Höhn. The soil nature trail is 4.5 km long and leads through Todtenbrucher Moor.

Hiking

The signposted nature trail leads through the Todtenbruch forest area, in which various forest soils are presented using profile pits and detailed boards. Using six soil profiles in the forest and in the raised bog, it is possible to gain an insight into the structure of the soils and the importance of the soil as a habitat and plant location.
