Picturesque reflect the mountains in the deep blue water and on the other side of the lake you can see the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Get away from the hustle and bustle in Hohenschwangau and a beautiful view of the royal palaces. Beautiful natural paths. Not suitable for strollers.

The Alpsee (about 62m deep) near Hohenschwangau impresses with its blue clear water. In addition to an outdoor pool and the resident boat rental, the lake offers a light Alpine circular walk with a length of about 6km! The hiking trail is "not suitable for wheelchairs, strollers or bicycles"! It always goes back over rough stones, big roots and small bridges with grid floor, mountain up and down! The view is breathtaking and you get a glimpse of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwanstein here and there!

From Füssen over the Kalvarienberg to the Schwansee then to the Alpsee circumnavigation and back again. On this hike you can see the castles from different perspectives.

It is really busy at the castles, but during the hike, everything relaxes. It is a really idyllic tour.

A super tour, once you are past the castle tourism.
Important is sturdy shoes and enough fluid.
    Some slopes have it all

Beautiful and well worth a visit in winter, too. Bring snowshoes if there's a lot of snow.

Really idyllic. But who is traveling with a toddler in the winter should put on sled or harness, because parts of the way are not passable with a stroller.
