The boat lift house at the "Christbescherung Erbstolln" pit is part of the Christbeschehrungs mine canal, which, together with the Churprinz mine canal, had a navigable length of 11 km. Ore barges with up to 2.5 tons were hauled onto it in the Freiberg northern district as far as Halsbrücke to the Poch and Hüttenwerke.
