"The Kaiserbaum is located in the Kinzigtal above Höchst, not in Frankfurt or in the Odenwald, but in a district of Gelnhausen. The name Kaiserbaum probably goes back to Emperor Friedrich I, known as Barbarossa, who made the nearby imperial city of Gelnhausen a city in 1170. Because he and his entourage (such a beautiful word cannot be allowed to die out) were in the forest near Höchst, this place is named after him. A hundred meters from the high point there is a boulder with an inscription."
