Since the last ice age, the water of the Gornervispe has been washing out the narrow gorge. The river is surrounded by sheer walls of 220 million year old greenish serpentinite. This natural spectacle can be crossed on foot on a secured path. From the middle of September, the special light conditions between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. let the water shine turquoise blue.
