The path through the Eistobel is a pleasure, especially on hot days because of the shady path and the "proximity to the water". Of course, it unfolds its very special magic in winter when the Boschungen disappear behind the walls of huge icicles. A dream in white.

The waters of the Upper Argen crash about three kilometers over Cascades. Partially framed by 130m high cliffs, the river loses 70 meters in altitude on its way. The trail is well secured and varied in character between walk and mid-mountain hike with alpine impact.

The name "Eistobel" has the gorge of its waterfalls, which are often frozen in the winter for several months to ice. From the beginning of November to the end of April, the ice cream maker is closed, i. the paths are neither cleared nor scattered during this time. You can commit it anyway, however, are appropriate warm clothes, good hiking boots (best in combination with knickers or crampons) a must.

    Admission: adults € 1.50, children € 0.50
Admission is via a turnstile, the machine does not change.

Attention, if you go from the page Schüttentobel in the gorge, you need change for the turnstile: € 2.50 for adults, € 1.00 for children. The price is absolutely reasonable, but the procedure very annoying, if you do not know that and not enough or fit coins has (state 7.2018). There is no way to switch far and wide.

Easy walk even with children to walk well.
There are several tours from 1.5h to 5h.

The partially well-visited Eistobel is an imposing gorge with many places for children and dogs to play in the river. Small waterfalls, slides, footbridges, stairs make the hike very varied.

On hot days, the feet and paws to cool just hang in the arms.

In the summer do not necessarily go on the weekends, unless you like crowds in the middle of a unique landscape.

Beautiful Tobel. But as several times written in the summer season not recommended for people who are looking for a lonely hike in wild and romantic nature.

The nature experience is impressive. In the summer in the season unfortunately already very well visited. The hike is easy to handle, only the entrance from the parking lot is quite steep. Then continuous slope (or slope depending on direction). We were able to pay for a person and did not need change, as written by Michael. Of course, I do not know if that's the case only in the main season. Better to have matching coins (€ 2.50 for adults and € 1.00 for children).

Also in the rain a place worth seeing. Very well laid wooden paths that perfectly adapt to the natural environment. On the small round we came on the way back through Riedholz. There we indulged in a piece of cake at the Gasthof Adler. Rarely eaten a delicious cake. Recommend everyone who loves sweet there is a stop between.
