In the 1920s, the construction of a tram from Potsdam Central Station towards Caputh began. The aim was to develop a new urban area called "Wald-Potsdam" towards the Forsthaus Templin. Ultimately, construction was only carried out on the Brauhausberg. The tram was discontinued and dismantled in the 1940s. There were never tracks here in the Schmerberg frame section, but the route with dams and notches was prepared.
