The former council quarry Chemnitz supplied Hilbersdorfer Porphyrtuff with which not only innumerable buildings were built in Chemnitz, also the Tulpenkanzel in the Freiberg cathedral consists of this beige-gray-reddish rock.

From the porphyry tuff of the Ratssteinbruches in Chemnitz Zeisgwald originated from 1610 u.a. the tulip pulpit of the Freiberg cathedral, as well as portal and cloister of the castle church Chemnitz.

The old council quarry in the Zeisigwald. The Devil's Bridges are at the end of the quarry. Unfortunately the bridges are in poor condition.
