The park around the castle has been laid out in an English landscape style and is adjacent to the 'Oude Landen' nature reserve behind it. It has a beautiful rose garden, a castle pond and a variety of trees. In the front part of the park there are still some beech trees from a lane that was planted in 1759. There is a playground for the children. A major attraction is 'Villa Enjoys' at the entrance of the park, built around 1900. At the back of the park is an old restored lock pumping station. The Veltwijckpark is home to the oldest 'lying seesaw' archery club in the country. In September, the Castle Festivities and the Highland Games continue, an event not to be missed.

Veltwijck Castle is a renaissance-style moated castle from the 16th century. It is built in brick with white sandstone bands. The stepped gables, the turrets and the remarkable access bridge give it a picturesque view. The castle was purchased by the municipality of Ekeren in 1929 and furnished as a town hall. Now the district administration is located there.
