At this point you cycle along an oxbow lake of the Gent-Brugge Canal. On the other side of the bank you can see the Miseriebocht nature reserve. The old arm and the new course of the canal flow around it on all sides - there is only a land connection at a tiny point at the eastern end of the headland. Due to the inaccessible location, a real natural paradise with many rare birds has formed here. You can explore the nature reserve on a short walk.
