A special leisure offer of Hanover is the Tiergarten in the southeastern city area, in the district of Kirchrode. The 1.12 km ² large, beautiful park with local wild animals in outdoor enclosures was created at the end of the 17th century as a leisure park for the nobility. The Tiergarten is thus also the oldest forest enclosure in Germany and also the oldest recreational area of Hanover.Half of the park consists of a meadow with individual trees and half of closed forest areas. Particularly impressive are the centuries-old oaks and beech trees. Together with the younger groups of trees, the Tiergarten is an ideal outdoor enclosure for fallow deer, roe deer, red deer and wild boar. Here you can experience deer with stately antlers and wild boars in the great outdoors. Visitors can walk in the fenced park area between the wild animals and admire them from close range.

A nice destination with the family on Sunday. And best of all: the entrance is free!
That's something special these days.
