In 1889 Father Dehon, founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, bought from the Dominicans the buildings of Clairefontaine which housed their monastery before their departure for the city of Luxembourg. He set up an apostolic school there where students could attend secondary school before entering the Congregation and beginning university studies. The Clairefontaine high school closed its doors in 1986 and the buildings were transformed to house, from 1991, a reception center for spiritual animation and formation.

Clairefontaine is today the oldest of the houses that Father Dehon founded and which still exist.
