The idyllic Romedikirchl towers above the village of Thaur. Not far from there is the castle ruin. You are in the Karwendel Nature Park. Both can be reached via numerous hiking trails.
The church on this idyllic spot in Thaur is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and Saint Romedius. Their predecessor was first mentioned in 1367. For the years 1378 and 1379, measurement foundations for the castle church are documented. The new high altar was consecrated in 1432.
The footpath to the church is accompanied by seven station chapels, which were built in 1873 and have a gable roof, simple cornice and an arched opening, and in 1976/77 with glazed clay reliefs by Romed Speckbacher d.J. were provided.
