Summit book on a Siegerländer mountain ... Nice idea

  • Here is a summit book ....

  • Everything that makes a summit. Summit cross and a refuge. I haven't looked up the summit book. Now (end of 2021) free views in almost all directions, because here too the forest has been largely cleared. The bark beetle makes this necessary. The roads are in a very bad condition.

  • Very nice place to take a break and there is a refuge!

  • Unfortunately the summit book can no longer be found. But it is worth taking a short break on the bench under the summit cross.

  • It's nice when viewpoints suddenly open again in the high forest.

  • Always worth a detour.

  • Ideal to take a little rest ... The view is now pretty nice, unfortunately some trees have been cut down (probably by bark beetles)!

  • Worth seeing in both summer and winter.

  • A rewarding climb to 616m. Here you can take a short break under the summit cross of Martinshardt before you descend to the Kindelsberg (618m) after another (short) descent. The shelter (a project of the University of Siegen) is available in bad weather.

  • A nice place to rest comfortably on the bench or in the refuge.

  • Very nice view, unfortunately, like everywhere else, the bark beetle is raging, so that some trees had to give way! A pleasant place to stay ... the cabin offers shelter from wind and rain! 👍

  • Because there is a lot of snow in winter and there is a beautiful view through a lane.

  • Neighboring summit of the Kindelsberg, quieter, as the rest area is only used by hikers or mountain bikers. There is a parking lot below the Kindelsberg, which is why the Kindelsberg is visited more often because of the restaurant.

  • The 616m high mountain belongs alongside the Kindelsberg to the western foothills of the Rothaar Mountains. At the summit cross you can write in the summit book (we did not find it). As a very old evidence of mining on Martinshardt, you can still find the Pingenfeld "Abraham" in the south-west direction, where open-cast mining was once used. Source: Flyer Kindelsbergpfad

  • The Martinshardt is a 608.5 m high mountain in northern Siegerland. It is part of the former Müsen mining district.

  • I am amazed at the great pictures. I was here today and the summit is completely bare ☹️ I added photos. I couldn't find the summit book

  • There is a refuge on the summit and there is also a summit book. The view from up here is great.

  • Due to the heavy bark beetle infestation, the summit is now more or less tree-free. But this results in a great view towards Ferndorftal and Rothaarkamm. Highly recommended, especially at sunrise.
