There are many special points in Beelen, which present a piece of culture and also cultural history of the community. Mayor Elisabeth Kammann brought the idea to the council a long time ago to summarize these special points as part of a cultural path. The result of the planning now targets the establishment of three cultural paths for Beelen, namely the cultural paths West, South and Middle. These three paths are to be combined to form a large cultural path. First of all, the Kulturpfad Mitte will be realized. At all cultural points, e.g. Stela of remembrance in the cemetery, catholic church, "Alter Kirchplatz", Hof Hövener, Haus Heuer, stelae are placed on which information about the respective cultural property is attached, but also a QR code that provides further information. The project is financed by the Kulturstiftung der Sparkasse Warendorf. On September 4, the foundation committee of the community of Beelen meets for another meeting. Before the meeting at 4 p.m., the first information point on the new cultural path Beelen Mitte is to be set up on the stumbling stones on Villers-Ecalles-Platz. There will also be a large information board later on Villers-Ecalles-Platz, which provides detailed information about the project and shows the course of the three paths. All interested citizens are invited to this kick-off event. “I am delighted that we can implement this wonderful project for Beelen. It will be a great asset, ”said Mayor Elisabeth Kammann. The paths can be explored on foot or by bike and provide interesting insights into Beelen’s history.
