Hüppelröttchen is the most famous local recreation area in the municipality of Eitorf. The name comes directly from the forester's house Hüppelröttchen, which stood in the forest area from 1835 to 1972. Hüppelröttchen was also a district of Eitorfs. For 1885 two houses and 13 residents were recorded here. In 1910, the forester Karl Emig was listed here and could even be reached on phone 45, as was the forest foreman Franz Wilhelm Lichtenthäler.

The Hüppelröttchen is just perfect for a wonderful rest. Hut, benches and couch available. Plus a herbal path, bee path and simply nature that is fun.

Quiet sunny location with a promising bench and valley view at the old Hüppelröttchen forester's house (table). Peace, nature, idyll. Bee nature trail destination. Refuge for rain showers at mountain festival level. Old chestnut trees invite you to collect them. Please do not enter the wet biotope below, but can be spied on with binoculars. Pastures for young cattle. Following the asphalted Forsthausteichweg down to the old ponds, dogs who love to swim. And in the first bend there is a striking wooden tower that provides a perfect overview of what is going on in the valley and at the edge of the forest. With patience u. Deer and wild boar can be observed at the right time or a griffin at the air show.
