Now a forestry plantation that grows right up to the beach and alongside the John Muir Country Park. This area was used extensively for military training and defence during the 1st and 2nd world wars. There is evidence of trench systems and firing ranges around the edge of the woodland. Later the area was a gold course, now it's a wonderful area for a quiet walk. Watch out for the deer.

Turning from home on this beautiful beach walk. Heading round the plantation look out for deer in the woodland. They are used to people so don’t startle too easily. Good photo opportunities.

Beautiful area to walk along. Unfortunately a lot of trees have been blown over in recent storms.
