Curral des Freiras

The place srlber is not very spectacular, except for the days when this is a fete odet market

You can traverse the Curral the Freiras all the way, if you descend from the Boca da Corrida on the Boca do Cerco into the valley and rises again short and crisp to the Eira do Serrado. Challenging in terms of condition, but beautiful and complete with public buses (although not every bus from C.d.Freiras to Funchal goes via the E.d.Serrado, please inform; gg 5 in the afternoon runs during the week but usually a bus). If you missed the bus back, it is taxi or again nice down the hill to the main road (not recommended, as relatively busy road to Eira d.S.).

Absolutely make a detour to the hotel on top of the mountain, from there you have the most beautiful view of the village and mountains around it.

The mountain village has a name: Curral das Freiras. It is reached after a short, steep, beautiful path that leads downhill to the Vale das Freiras (Valley of the Nuns).

If it rains you should avoid the track, because the stones are very slippery.
