At this point the view over the valley was good before the BG educational facility was built. Now something is obstructing the view. Still a historical place where you can linger for a while.

The pavilion was built in 1902 and commemorated the Eppstein doctor Wilhelm Krekel, who treated destitute Eppstein residents free of charge from 1874 onwards. The view from there was said to have been magnificent until the neighboring educational institution was built in 1970. In 1980 the temple was demolished due to dilapidation and this shelter was built.
