    Animal lawnmowers😊

They are related to the auroch and almost give the impression of fighting bulls: Nine heifers are at home in Fußbergmoos.

Gigantic colossi follow the strollers with dark eyes. Their huge shape surrounds a shaggy but dense fur. Equipped with powerful horns that protrude sideways from their heads, they almost give the impression of fighting bulls from an arena. But at a second glance, the beautiful animals are more reminiscent of large sheep that are lazily standing around, aimlessly walking a few steps around or just grazing peacefully.
The Fürstenfeldbrucker district group of the State Association for Bird Protection (LBV) in Fußbergmoos near Maisach has been caring for around 15 hectares of living space with the help of heifers since 2002. The special ruminants are a kind of relatives of the aurochs, which died out more than 300 years ago. In the 1930s and 1940s, the Heck brothers had exactly this original cattle in mind when they tried to breed them back. The herd in Fußbergmoos owes their existence to them today - and of course the name.
