Hiking

The Blättelborn is one of the leisure oases in the city of Merzig. Numerous waterfowl live at the Blättelbornweiher, an old arm of the Saar that has now been renatured.

Right next to it is a small, freely accessible zoo. It all started in 1963 with a few pygmy goats, soon to be joined by all sorts of poultry and donkeys.
